The Craig Dunain ladies welcomed the Stornoway lasses for a friendly at Bught Park, Inverness on Saturday. The ground was firm and the weather pleasant and the scene was set for what turned out to be an entertaining game of rugby. A good number of supporters for both teams
made for a very vocal accompaniment to the game.Stornoway who are a developing team played with a passion and determination which made for a very closely fought contest between the two teams. They proved themselves worthy opponents for the Craig girls who were fielding several players for whom this was their first competitive game. The Craig Dunain Ladies used the match as an opportunity for some girls to try out different positions which did cause some confusion at times , however, they doggedly hung on for a 39-0 win. Stornoway were very unlucky not to get a score and were only denied by a foot in touch after keeping the Craig Dunain girls pinned in their own 22 for a good period . Overall a great game of rugby played in good spirit. Scorers :- Jenna Woods 3 tries, 2 conversions, Gwennan Butler 3 tries, Manouk Bakermans 1 try.
